(2 months to pre-walking)
The Program. Our program is designed for both you and your infant. You will be able to interact with your child alongside a Montessori-trained teacher in an environment geared entirely to your infant's needs, developmental stage, and interest level.
Your infant will encounter activities that will promote his or her development of language, motor skills, eye-hand coordination, and socialization. We will share information pertaining to your baby's development, safety, nutrition, and sleep, including an introduction to Montessori philosophy and application. You will learn about preparing an ideal environment to support your baby's growth.
Parents will also gain the support of our community and the opportunity to share expertise, concerns, celebrations, etc. with the others.
Montessori Facilitator.Your facilitator will move throughout the classroom, spending time with each parent and infant couple, introducing different components and activities int he environment, sharing observations and suggestions, and discussing your child's development going on right before our eyes.
Time. The Parent-Infant Program is held on Friday mornings between 9 and 10:30 a.m.
Admission. Babies may begin as young as eight weeks old. We encourage you to enroll while your baby is still in arms, knowing that you will treasure the transition your baby makes from resting contentedly on a mat studying a mobile, to a child who has the capacity to roll, sit independently, crawl off exploring, and ultimately pull to a stand and take those first few steps.
Participants in the Parent-Infant Program receive priority admission to the Toddler Community Program (18 months to 3 years) at Hoaloha Kai School.
